January/February:
In January Drew and I celebrated 3 years together and in February we celebrated 6 months of marriage. Pretty exciting! We also had to say goodbye to our very good friends & neighbors the Corson's...I hate goodbyes.
March/April:
During March and April we started to see the light at the end of the tunnel for Drew at SIU. Then for me working in the Marion school district at AfterCats. We had no idea where the Lord was taking us or sending us. We had desires and dreams or where WE thought WE should go, but we had no knowledge of it that was inline with the Lord's plan.
May/June:
In May Drew finished his offical undergrad classes at SIU and I found out that I was going to be working at CDL at SIU. It turned out to be the perfect job for me to have that would lead to the job that I found in Louisville. In June we celebrated my 24th birthday at Holiday World in Santa Clause, IN. It was a horribly HOTTT day but it was great getting away with my best friend! We also found out that Drew would be filling in as an interim pastor at Lighthouse Community Church in Nashville, IL. Which turned out to be a wonderful experience and brought people into our lives that will be lifelong friends!
July:
July was a very busy month! We found out late in the month that we finally had a house in Louisville and that Drew would be attending Southern Seminary Theological Seminary. Also, Drew was brought in front of Lakeland Baptist Church to be ordained. It was such a special night to spend with family and friends. At the end of the month our good friends were married and we had the Corson's come and stay with us! It brought all our old friends back together for one last time before we all moved away...
August:
In August Drew graduated from Southern Illinois University with his undergrad in Philosophy. It was so awesome watching him walk across the stage and finally receive his degree! Then we drove straight from campus to Mt. Vernon to pick up our moving truck to pack up and take to Louisville! We are still so grateful for the Meyerhoff family, the Konieczka family & Ashley Clark. They were such great helpers that made moving relatively easy! Especially considering it was our one year wedding anniversary! Then the day after we moved I started working full time as a nanny for a family with two children ages 2 1/2 and 5. The Lord really blessed us with this job, they are such a great family.
September/October:
In September I started taking a Seminary Wives class at the University. It was an essentials class so the many women that taught the class talked about everything from public speaking to how to visit church members in the hospital. It was a great class and I meet a couple of wives of men that Drew had classes with. At the end of October our friends the Gardner's invited us over for a Harvest party. It was really fun getting to get out and meet some other seminary families!
November:
I think the biggest month of our entire year. We found out that we were going to be expecting a little bundle of joy in the next year! We are just so excited and that's pretty much all I can say about that! We had a wonderful Thanksgiving together watching football all weekend long and figuring out how to cook a turkey! It turned out really good!
December:
For Christmas we spent it in Arizona with Drew's dad. It was very strange celebrating Christmas in 70 degree weather. We sent to Old Tuscan to see where many old western movies were filmed and even Little House on the Prairie. We also went up to Sedona and saw a lot of red rocks. The area up there is So beautiful and saw the only McDonald's in the world that doesn't have golden arches! They are turquoise, due to city order. When we came home my Mom came to visit (is still visiting) us. It's so great having her around to take care of her pregnant daughter!
All in all it's been a busy year but it's been wonderful to see the Lord working through our lives and we look forward to see what the Lord is going to do with us this up coming year!
Happy 2011!
