Baby M

Well, we have our first pictures of our little baby! I'll say that I was very nervous going into the doctors appointment 1. because I'm already 13 weeks and should of been seen earlier & 2. because well, I just don't look or feel pregnant. I'm sure that's a horrible thing to say, but I don't feel pregnant. I never had the vomiting, the nausea, any aversion to food, nothing. So, I was preparing myself to hear from the doctor that I wasn't pregnant and that there was something else wrong with me. But then I heard the heart beat. Oh My Goodness, I wanted to cry but I didn't want to make my belly move and not be able to hear anymore. That little heart was beating so incredibly fast! Drew and I then couldn't wait to get to the ultrasound doctors office to see the whole thing.
A plus for today was also the jelly that they put on my belly was not cold! The nurse actually told me that it's going to be rather warm. I've always heard that it's going to be super cold, but not today! Anyway, the nurse found our little baby tucked in the corner feet and hands curled up. It took our breath away. BTW: I should mention that I had my appointment at 9:30 am but didn't get to the ultrasound till after noon, so both baby and me were really hungry! So the nurse proceeded to "poke" the baby and he/she woke right up. We saw him/her try to flip and do almost a donkey kick. It was so amazing! The entire time I kept thinking, how can anyone look at this an not see God? How an egg and sperm can come together and even at 13 weeks have a full human?! I don't know the answer to that.
But thankfully our baby looks healthy and normal! Another check up in 4 weeks and in 7 weeks we will know the sex of the baby. I have a feeling it's a boy, I continually call the baby a he. But I guess we will just have to wait and see!

  1. I remember my 1st ultrasound. SO exciting :) I'm glad everything's going well for you. I must say though, I am jealous that you haven't felt sick! But happy you don't have to experience that part of pregnancy :) I always thought the warm jelly felt relaxing!
Oh, I think you're having a boy, too.
